Great dream, great change, great work and great victory - CHRIST is our life

Since, then, you have been raised with, set your hearts on things above, where Christ is seated at the right hand of God. Set your minds on things above, not on earthly things. For you died, and your life is now hidden with Christ in God. When Christ, who is your life, appears, then you also appear with him in glory. Colossians 3:1-4

In the past few years Yewongel Berhan Church(YBC) has made a remarkable progress, and with the power of the Living King we were able to lay foundations for the church's development. In 2009 we had a theme - "God can" and like Nehemiah we said, "The God of heaven will give us success. We his survants will start building." And we planned to complete the great mission with specific purposes and goals that were summerized in the four F's, namely: Follow the Holy Spirit's voice, Focus on evangelism and training, Friendships Day and Fasting and prayer. We emphasized to have a great idea, to do great things and to have a great victory. For this we need to be changed- great change. Still we have in mind the concept- great dream, great change, great work and great victory. This is a great challenge but we can do it, because we have a great God. You do not need to have a great God to do small things- which we will manage very easily. The important thing is that the great dream we have is from God. We know it is from God. Since proclaiming the Good News, is "the Great Commission", to go forth to spread the Gospel. But only big dream produces no results and victory. It is important for us to accomplish the great work. Big dreams require substantial work. Therefore, with our big dream to make a big work, we need a big change. This is the precondition for great work and great victory. Before changing others, we must be changed in order to do God's work. For this we need Jesus. The theme for 2010 is "Jesus my life". We need Jesus for a complete "transformation". Apart from him we can do nothing (John15:5). Jesus is always with us- willing to help us (Mat. 28:20). We must stand up and work and have our trust in Him. A warning- to bury a big dream is big mistake. It is something that our enemy wants us to do. If we do not have that big dream, we can not perform the great work. I encourage you, both in the church and in our personal lives, we must raise our big dreams for the completion of major works and celebrate the great victory. Nothing can stop us to do it. We will do it with God on our side. We are not affraid to do big things, because we know that God is a great God. Jesus loves to perform miracles and save people from Devil's power. Do not be affraid, just believe(Mark 5:35). I believe that the great victory comes, for we are willing to change and work. We are more than winners. Jesus is our life. And whatever we do, whether in word or deed, do it in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him (Colossians 3:17).
